This is the second in a series of articles describing how KYI Capital Campaign contributions are being used to restore Muktidham.
After a special order, the sliding doors arrived.
There are no fewer than four sliding doors in Muktidham. Two on the first floor, and two on the second floor. On the first floor one acts as the main entrance; the other opens onto a large deck. On the second floor the doors open onto balconies.
Our skilled contractors first removed the old, worn sliding doors.
Then they expertly installed the new sliding doors.
When they finished this balcony door looked great.
On special occasions, Bapuji would stand on this balcony and wave to disciples who had gathered below.
The most important door is the kitchen door that serves as the main entrance.
Then the windows arrived and were installed. Below is the kitchen window.
This is the bathroom window.
There is a lot more work to do. One second-floor balcony must be removed due to dry rot and there are the repairs to the damaged wall on the east side of the building. Stay tuned.
